The first page is about the lap band surgery and describes in great detail the entire process of the lap band surgery from start to finish. One of the key elements of the lap band system is that it tightens your stomach and creates a small pouch that acts as your new stomach. So you really eat a portion of what you normally would, but your brain is sent signals indicating that you are actually full. It even talks about the lap band fills cycle and other steps you can talk post surgery to help you get in shape. For more information on how the system works check out the page.

The second page is about the lap band diet and covers all of the lap band friendly foods that you can eat prior to surgery and after the surgery. It is kind of lacking in terms of lap band recipes, but I don’t think that’s what they were focusing on when they were writing the page; hence an opportunity for our lap band blog to exploit a lap band niche not being covered by our friendly rival lap band blog.

The third page is probably the most detailed page on the site and it describes the complete lap band history from its inception all the way to its current dominance as the leading weight loss surgery for people struggling with obesity. If your curios as to which countries and which doctors played a key role in popularizing the lap band or slimband weight loss surgery, check out the page over at www.lapband-blog.com. It’s an awesome site that we’ll be trying hard to live up too!

The first article is entitled “Lap Band Surgery: How Does it Work?” and provides a full detail of how the lap band is placed around the top portion of the stomach and how it forms a pouch so that it tightens your stomach to make you feel like you are full. It’s quite the informative article and also goes on to describe how the lap band fills work where the pouch is injected; you see the lap band system is complicated stuff! Interestingly enough, the entire procedure is also reversible, which is pretty insane when you think about it. But once the gastric band or slim band is removed, (other commons names for the lap band) the stomach heals itself over a short period of time and then your back to normal. It’s a great article and you should check it out.

The second article is entitled “Lap Band Surgery: Who Is It For?” and explores what type of person would qualify for the lap band surgery; because it is only for obese people and there are certain requirements that you need to have in order to be able to qualify for the lap band surgery. Some of these include having a body mass index of over 40 and having a history of obesity. All in all the article just describes how the surgery isn’t just for people struggling to lose a few pounds, it is for people who have failed all other weight loss plans and desperately need to get in shape.

The third article is entitled “Lap Band Surgery: How Much Does It Cost?” and basically describes the top countries and lap band clinics where in each of those countries, being Canada, US, Mexico and India. The cost of the lap band surgery can go from $8,000 in India, to $16,000 in Canada all the way up to $25,000 in the United States.  Check out the article for more information on specific lap band clinics.

All in all the three articles basically provide all that you need to know about the lap band system. Next will feature a review of their three pages.

As the number of lap band patients grows by the day, a growing group of lap band bloggers have formed lap band communities online. On these lap band forums, such as www.lapbandtalk.com, lap band patients discuss their results with the lap band system and they share in passing along helpful lap band basics. Some of these include which type of lap band foods are good to eat, and what type of slow food you should buy since it will be easier to digest with your slimband.
